Cyazofamid is an effective fungicide mainly used for crop protection in agriculture. It belongs to the triazole fungicides and has the characteristics of broad spectrum, fast sterilization speed and long-term effectiveness.
 
The chemical name of cyazofamid is 2-(4-cyanophenyl)-4-methyl-1,3-thiadiazole. It is a white crystalline solid, almost insoluble in water and can be dissolved in organic solvents such as alcohols, acetonitrile and dichloromethane.
 
Cyazofamid mainly exerts its fungicidal effect by inhibiting the cytochrome Bc1 complex of the fungal cell respiratory chain. It can control a variety of pathogenic fungi, such as stripe rust fungus, powdery mildew fungus, and Botrytis cinerea. As a fungicide, cyazofamid can be used in various application methods such as foliar spraying of crops, seed treatment and soil treatment.
 
The preparation method of cyazofamid is mainly realized through synthesis reactions. Usually, an appropriate amount of p-cyanoaniline and chloromethyl methylsulfate are reacted under the action of a base to generate an intermediate of cyazofamid, and then the pure product is obtained through further treatment and purification.
